July 2021 Forecast
The first three weeks of July continue the Cancer season, which started on 22nd June. We are now in Astrological Summer, and the cardinal energy of Cancer invites us to undertake new ventures. As Cancer is a water sign, the focus is on our inner selves, emotions, family and nurturing. This is a good time to reflect on what we need in order to feel secure. The days leading up to the New Moon in Cancer can provide space to unpack all of the emotions that have surfaced during the Full Moon in Capricorn on June 24th. Release what no longer serves you, let go of childhood fears and nurture your inner child.
The New Moon in Cancer on the 10th is a very interesting one. The Sun- a masculine energy is joined by the Moon- a feminine energy. On top of this conjunction we also have Venus and Mars together in Leo (exact conjunction on 13th July). Yin and Yang, masculine and feminine, light and dark. We are taken back to the beginning of our existence, back to the womb, as the sign of Cancer is closely connected with pregnancy and the safe space where the developing child can gestate. We all have opposing energies within us, and during this New Moon we have an incredible opportunity to unite them. What does femininity and masculinity mean to us? Is one of these energies considered less valuable or perhaps destructive? The universe is all about balance, therefore we need to appreciate both sides to feel whole.
With Mars and Venus in Leo until the 23rd we might feel more outgoing and willing to relate to people. Leo is a fire sign, ruled by the Sun. Everything revolves around the Sun, and so we might feel the need to become noticed and appreciated in interpersonal relationships. Make sure you shine your own light rather than reflect somebody else’s light. It takes courage to be yourself, but once you allow your unique energies to present themselves, you will be unstoppable. True gold does not tarnish.
Leo season starts on the 23rd, and we will move on from the watery, emotional domain of Cancer to the confident and grand presence of Leo. Leo is associated with the 5th house in astrology, and its main themes are creativity, romance, leisure and children. Now is a good time to start a new hobby, show off any skills you have worked on over the last couple of months and meet new people. Leo can sometimes be too generous, so if you are going out with friends and have a tight budget, make sure you don’t get carried away with all the fun and overspend.
The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 24th brings to light issues of personal power and collective power. Perhaps we have been too selfish and entered group situations to benefit us and our ego. Maybe we have been doing the opposite- gave away our power to the group, and forgot about our individuality. Venus in Virgo in opposition to Jupiter in Pisces can reveal where we overcompensate in relationships. Deficits in one area can be covered by exaggeration and surplus in another area. Make sure you keep the balance and are honest with yourself, even if it will hurt your pride a little.
We end the month with Jupiter going back to Aquarius- it will move into Pisces for good at the end of December. Jupiter will travel through the same degrees of Aquarius it did in March, April and May. If you have started any new ventures during these months, it is time to further solidify and deepen them rather than expand them. We are preparing for a time of reflection as in August all of the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) wil be in retrograde motion. Make use of the fiery Leo energy in the coming weeks and enjoy the summer as much as you can. The upcoming Virgo season in mid- August will expect you to focus on your daily life and its details. Leo season is the barbecue garden party, Virgo season is the cleaning up of the garden.
