Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all staying home and staying well during these difficult times. I am ‘shielding’ my elderly parents (87 and 88 years old) who live with me and I’m finding it difficult staying in and avoiding contact when you are so used to being active and out and about.
At the Centre we are trying to do all we can to stay in touch with you and bring you a range of on-line activities to enjoy whilst our beautiful building is locked down. We are also trying to be of assistance to anyone in the community who is in need of help with shopping or just needs a friendly phone call from time to time when we are all so isolated. If you, or if you know of someone who needs help, let us know, we will try to help. Get in touch via email at bookings@arthurconandoylecentre.com
As you’re probably aware, earlier this year I announced my intention to retire and I’m due to handover the Chairmanship to Prof. Lance Butler on 1st May. I must say that when that date was agreed upon, never in my wildest dreams did I expect that I would be handing over a Centre that is locked down due to a world wide pandemic and all our staff and loyal customers are confined to ‘barracks’!
However, The Centre is in good shape and we have good people both on our staff, our volunteers and you, our customers. Lance is certainly the man to take it forward towards new horizons. I know he has great plans for the future – I hope you do too and that together we’ll get through this so we can celebrate the re-opening of The Centre – hopefully in the not too distant future.
For now, stay safe, look after each other and those who are more vulnerable. Stay in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
Ann
Chair, The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre

“Don’t mean to put Lance off, but just sorting out the papers to hand over to him – and desk is not big enough!!!”
So kind of you to offer help at this difficult time. I’m sure there will be some good will come out of this situation. Love light and peace to all . Helen Boyle. I come from Glasgow but love to visit the Arthur Conan Doyle centre now and again. I’m having a think about the online classes and readings. Will be back xx
Hi Helen, we appreciate your kind words. We hope you are keeping well and safe. The online classes are a great way to keep in touch with people while we are all taking shelter, feel free to join in if you want to.
Thank you to all at the Conan Doyle Centre for keeping us all connected and reminded of the universal love, light and energy we are all connected to, and can be channels of, for restoring this beautiful planet to spiritual and physical health and harmony once again.
With very best wishes to you all and safekeeping to you and your loved ones from a grateful member,
Miranda.
The Tuesday talks and Saturday demonstrations of mediumship I find very enlightening, but the more we learn, the more questions arise in one’s mind. So if inanimate objects have consciousness, they must also be sentient? That’s very hard to grasp. Another question, reincarnation makes sense, but not all students accept that, but I have yet to know why.
Most importantly though, it is comforting to belong to the wonderful web of thinkers. The common theme being, love and compassion for all God’s creatures.
Hello, I just want to say that as I age i sage,Its been an absolute joy to have Zoom demonstrations in my living room ,thank you for that!I.m not familiar with this new but valuable means of connecting,,I do however appreciate this type of communication…………especially when everything is in Lockdown! My one concern is I need to pay over the phoe as I did last year—–hoping this is not an inconvenience as I was hoping to join this Saturdays demo.thanking you in anticipation ==and hope that life will soon get back to a measure of normalacy.Best wishes to everyone involved,Loretta (vettraino)
Hi Loretta – thanks for your kind words. We are very happy to have you with us. Paying over the phone is no problem. Currently the best way to speak to us over the phone is to call and leave a message so that we can call you back or send us an email. We’re not at the office at the moment because of the lockdown but we do go in to check messages every few days. Hope that helps and see you soon. Scott
