The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre at 25 Palmerston Place is a listed building in a World Heritage Site. It is an impressive Victorian Townhouse which retains its original beauty. Its our pleasure to provide a beautiful, welcoming space for your event.
 
We are in a convenient location for you and your guests in the heart of Edinburgh’s West End. Less than 5 minutes walk from Haymarket Railway Station. Find us with ease, our stunning neighbour next door is St Mary’s Cathedral.
 
We want to provide the perfect space for you. Our rooms are suitable for most occasions. From board meetings to book launches. From blowout parties to intimate 1-2-1 therapy sessions. From yoga class to crystal workshops. Whatever you need space for, we’ve got you covered.

The Helen Duncan Room

Our largest room features an ornate Victorian fireplace and chandelier. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful views of St Mary’s Cathedral. Your guests will love how attractive and well-lit this space is. The Helen Duncan hosts large workshops, catered events and classes. It is a fresh and vibrant space for any event.

The Mary Duffy Room

Bright and intimate space overlooking the gardens of St Mary’s cathedral.  Ideal for a small class, workshop, business meeting or talk. This room extends and opens out into the Helen Duncan room and both can be booked together.

Therapy Rooms

An intimate space for private consultations. Our therapy rooms are capable of hosting counselling and physical therapy. Equipped with comfortable chairs, massage chairs and plinths as requested. We currently host counsellors, acupuncturists, reflexologists, hypnotherapists and more. We’d love to host you too.

To book our therapy rooms, we are required to see your public liability insurance, qualifications and a completed version of this form.

The Sanctuary

With stained glass windows and original features from 1800, The Sanctuary is a special space. Its high capacity, raised platform and pulpit make it an ideal seminar space. Currently home to a church and our Tuesday Talks programme, this space is the perfect place to host your next event. This room has also hosted company board meetings, Tai-Chi classes and even a wedding ceremony.

Lower Ground Room

The Garden Room

 Want a space for the weekend?

We offer weekend hire for an additional 15% cost. A minimum of 4 hours booking is required for weekend hire.

Cancellation Policy

 You must notify us of any cancellation in writing, such cancellation taking effect from the date the notice is received by us. We shall use all reasonable endeavours to mitigate loss by taking such steps as we, at our sole discretion deem appropriate, in order to rebook the available date (any success will be taken into account when calculating the cancellation fee due by you).
