Welcome to our Newsletter! February is the shortest month of the year, a half-way point between Winter and Spring. With each day the sunlight stays with us a little longer. Shy snowdrops and crocuses peek out of last year’s blanket of fallen leaves.
The small changes herald the reawakening of nature. Let’s stay optimistic and patient with this process. Trust that Spring will come. It always does.

Weird are the Ways! Recently, and mulling over experiencing a quiet time with requests for Tarot Readings, I was asking myself if ‘the force was still with me,” when the phone rang. It was a client who’d had a Reading two years previously and who was now telling me how accurate it had been, although a couple of the interpretations had been slightly off-kilter with their timing. Actually the phone call to me was impeccable with its own.
Some years previously when I was at the beginning of one of those ‘dark nights of the Soul’ (one of those necessary experiences that enable us Readers to be more empathic. Hah!) I was so distressed that I’d sent up a prayer, saying “I can’t do this on my own”. And that was just at the moment when a Reiki healer was driving back home, past the Pub my Son had taken me to cheer me up and when a loud voice from inside her head had said: “There’s a woman in there, who needs your help!”
I had watched her come though the door (rather like John Wayne in a Western movie) to sit behind my daughter-in-law, and she, leaning forward to say the lady who was behind her was a healer, and did I want to make an appointment with her. The Reiki healer had nodded her head and so, the very next day, I’d driven to her sanctuary. Only two minutes had passed since I’d sent up my S.O.S.
So never give up hope for They are always listening in!
Leonard Cohen, the Poet, Songwriter, Singer said this: “The only way to sanity is to glue your Soul to prayer.” And I’m thinking the kind of prayer that totally engages us in that moment when the light comes through the cracks.

Centre Happenings and Insights
February is a strange month. It is the shortest of the twelve months, even if once every four years it gains an extra day. It is a Winter month but we can already feel the signs of Spring. The novelty of a new year and new date wears off and we are confronted with relatively short and cold days.
I believe every cycle goes through this in-between stage. It makes me think of the process of growing plants. We prepare the soil, sow the seeds, water them for the first time and… nothing happens. Next day… still nothing. Carried on by momentum of the initial stages we are asked to stop and wait. It’s not like the eager waiting for the plant to bloom or for the fruit to ripen. There is a lot of uncertainty in that first waiting stage. Will the seeds sprout? Will they take root? Have I done it properly? All we can do is let the cycle unfold in its own time.
What warms me up in February is the thought that the hidden force of life is still there and that it is working. All of a sudden, little white snowdrops appear in the midst of last year’s fallen leaves. Green, pointy leaves shoot through the ground announcing the rebirth of nature. Tree sap is quietly moving through the trunks and branches, saturating them in preparation for Spring.
Can you hear it? The softly muted footsteps of Spring are sneaking behind the scene. They will soon reverberate through each garden, park and field.
Pisces season commences on 18th February and lasts until the Spring Equinox on 20th March. Being the last one of the Twelve Zodiac Signs, Pisces corresponds to the end of the Astrological Year. A mutable water sign, Pisces can pick up the surrounding energies like a sponge, sometimes losing sight of what feelings and emotions are their own. Pisces deals with themes of spirituality, sacrifice and merging back with the universe.
Pisces season begins with a New Moon in Pisces on 20th February. The dreamy and idealistic Piscean nature is strengthened by a conjunction of Venus to Neptune, also in the sign of Pisces. It is a perfect time to begin a creative project that requires artistic sensitivity and empathy. As Venus will be in the last degree of Pisces (also called the anaretic degree) it might feel like the last moments of romantic fantasy before reality strikes again. During the Venus Neptune conjunction make sure you keep both feet on the ground as it is too easy to believe beautiful promises. Venus is connected to resources, money and possessions so be especially wary of signing documents or making purchases at that time.
On 1st March Venus will join Jupiter in Aries. In traditional Astrology Jupiter is categorised as the ‘greater benefic’ while Venus is the ‘lesser benefic’. The meeting of these two planets is therefore seen as highly beneficial. This conjunction will take place in the sign of Aries. If you have been planning to start a new venture or needed a push to get things going, 1st of March is the perfect day to do so.
On 7th March Full Moon in Virgo will take place. We have two more planets at anaretic degree (Saturn at 29 degree Aquarius and Pluto at 29 degree Capricorn), adding onto the pressure of the Full Moon. The Pisces-Virgo axis represents the duality of practical service and spiritual service, order and chaos, emotions and facts.
While the Sun fully illuminates the Moon, Saturn will move from Aquarius to Pisces. We will be looking at the ingress of Saturn into Pisces in the next Newsletter in more details.
