The Scottish Astrological Association is a friendly, informal Association, founded in Edinburgh in 1974 to promote the study of Astrology in Scotland. Whether you are a professional, expert, novice or just have a passing curiosity and would like to find out more, they are sure to have something to offer you.

13th September: “Astrology in Education” by Alex Trenoweth
Using the cycles of Jupiter and Saturn, Alex will demonstrate how authority figures can become stronger role models and therefore be in a better position to help guide the young people in their care around the pitfalls of growing up. In recent years, Alex Trenoweth has travelled across the world lecturing on the topic of Astrology and Education, based on research from her book “Growing Pains”. Her original and innovative research won her the title of “Best International Astrologer of the Year, 2015” from the Krishnamurti Institute of Astrology (KIA) in Kolkata India.
11th October: Corporate Psychopaths: You Don’t Want to Meet Them in a Dark Office by Nick Grier
What drives some people to the top of the corporate tree, taking no prisoners as they go? Power? Fame? Insecurity? Or good old-fashioned greed? Let’s get the astrological perspective. Nicholas Grier is now Professor of Scots Commercial Law at Abertay University. He has written various law books and is a former Chair of the Scottish Astrological Association
8th November: Magicians, Witches and Seers by Mark Cullen
We will be examining the charts of several famous occultists, witches and seers. What insights does astrology offer into such intriguing figures? Can we detect any astrological signatures for such pursuits in the birth chart? Mark Cullen completed Deborah Houlding’s STA Certificate in Horary in 2005 and has studied traditional astrology extensively since. Mark was Chair of the Scottish Astrological Association (2011-2016) and is mundane astrology moderator of the Skyscript website.
17th January: Moon Cycles – Seasons, Light and Fire by Anna Estaroth
This lecture will appeal to anyone who likes fire. Based on her research among ancient Scottish monuments, Anna explores the Great Moon cycles and how they played a role in traditional bonfires. Find out whether you were born during a great wax or a great wane. Anna Estaroth has been a professional astrologer and lecturer for many decades. She has just completed her MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. She is a Fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International and a Director of the Scottish Astrological Association. Discussion nights take place at the Thistle Hotel, 59 Manor Place, Edinburgh, EH3 7EG at 7.30 p.m. At our discussion evenings, you are encouraged to bring chart data, your own or the charts of friends, family or celebrities that you want to explore in relation to our discussion topic. These events are free and all are welcome. No special knowledge of astrology is necessary.
SAA Astrology Classes 2017
This autumn the SAA offers beginner’s astrology classes at the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm – 9:00pm Classes are run by Anna Estaroth. For more information and to reserve a place please contact Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org
