The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre provides a unique and elegant setting for your wedding.
Set in the exclusive West End of Edinburgh, it is one of Scotland’s best kept secrets.
Originally owned by William McEwan, brewer, politician and philanthropist, our building has been lavishly designed with ornate Baroque doorcases and is half filled by a magnificent staircase with minstrels gallery all topped by an engraved glass dome.
Our main function suite comprises of The Helen Duncan Room and The Mary Duffy Room, an elegant drawing room with with an anti-room off. Both rooms have ornate cornices, chandeliers and marble fireplaces which create the perfect setting for the Wedding Breakfast and evening reception.
Our Sanctuary houses our church, where the wedding ceremony can take place. Our Officiants are fully trained to carry out marriage ceremonies, including same sex marriages and blessings of civil partnerships. The ceremony includes the necessary legally binding vows, but can be tailored to your requirements to accommodate your own vows/promises, your own music, etc. to create a truly personal and intimate occasion.
