ABOUT
The Inadequacy of the Materialist Worldview –
Why We Need To Integrate Spirituality and Paranormal Experiences Into Our Concept of the World
Our current scientific mainstream view of the world is a materialist one. It assumes that the most important element of our world is matter and everything else, like consciousness, is derived from it. This world-view rests on assumptions that cannot be proven but these assumptions are nevertheless needed to make the scientific picture work. If we consider that consciousness and mental activity are presupposed to generate any model in the first place, the foundations of materialism begin to appear very shaky.
In this presentation Harald will deliver the reasons why he sees the materialist world view as deficient. He will stress the need to integrate spirituality and spiritual experiences, as well as a gamut of anomalistic empirical findings that refuse to comply with such a view of the world. On the contrary, they challenge it.
It is possible to integrate such experiences. The reality that then opens up is a spiritually enlarged view in which consciousness is at least co-primary to matter and allows a new avenue of investigation: contemplative science.
