Professor David Punter
Professor of Poetry Emeritus and Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bristol, UK
David Punter is Professor of Poetry Emeritus and Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bristol, UK. As well as hundreds of articles and essays, he has published many books on the Gothic as well as other areas of literature. His best-known work is probably The Literature of Terror; his most recent book on the Gothic is The Gothic Condition. His other books include Writing the Passions; Rapture: Literature, Addiction, Secrecy; Metaphor; Modernity; and The Literature of Pity. He has also published six books of poetry.
