An Introduction to Whirling Dance with Elisabeth Landgraf

7 June.6:00 pm-7:30 pm

7th June | 6pm – 7:30pm | £15/£12 concession | In-Centre

What is Whirling Dance?

This is an introduction to whirling dance, a meditative movement that allows a natural expression of the body in a circular motion. It’s a movement practice that invites us to align body, mind spirit in a repetitive movement and which imitates the rotation of the Earth on its own axis.

What to Expect

Elisabeth’s whirling practice is rooted in Korean shamanism where moving rhythmically, jumping and sometimes spinning are involved. As spinning can make you dizzy and feel nauseous, we’ll do it in a very gentle way, respecting the natural ability of the body to stay balanced and aligned.

Please bring along a bottle of water, avoid dairy product at least a few hours before the session and wear comfortable clothes. Ginger can be of great help with motion sickness.

Elizabeth Titterton

Elisabeth Landgraf is a multi-disciplinary artist exploring consciousness through art, creativity, movement and dance, Korean calligraphy, devotional whirling, energy art as well as performative arts.

Her extremely rich, diverse and profound journey is taking her on a path of self-discovery through the realms of shamanism, Buddhism from her native land of morning calm, Korea where she was born but also through the lense of Christian influence from her adoptive country, France.

Elisabeth lives her life through art as a series of mysterious adventures with a sense of wonders, innocent curiosity and profound inspiration by all the experiences Life invites all of us to live.

More than any titles or achievements, if Elisabeth could use a few words to symbolise her life’s journey, she could simply say “I AM ALIVE“.
