As 2026 begins, the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre enters an exciting new era, shaped by collaboration, shared purpose, and a renewed commitment to community. The Centre is delighted to be working in partnership to honour its original vision as a spiritual and community hub—bringing Church and people together and opening its doors to a much wider audience.
Founded in 2011, the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre was established as a spiritual home for Scotland’s second-oldest Spiritualist Church and as a welcoming space for people of all beliefs and none. Since its opening, the Centre has been dedicated to nurturing spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing within an inclusive and supportive environment.
Building on this foundation, 2026 marks a significant moment of renewal for the Centre. Guided by the founding vision of its partners and the leadership of the Centre’s first Chair, Ann Treherne, a new partnership between the Spiritualists’ National Union Trust, the Edinburgh Association of Spiritualists, and the Spiritualists’ National Union now leads the Centre into its next chapter. This collaboration strengthens the connection between Spiritualism and community, extending a warm welcome to people across Edinburgh and throughout Scotland.
Over the coming months, the Centre will announce a programme of new events and activities designed to inspire connection, learning, and wellbeing. These will include workshops, fireside chats, community gatherings, and much more—making full use of the Centre’s beautiful and historic building.
To be the first to hear about upcoming events and developments, make sure you join the Centre’s new mailing list and watch this space for further updates.
